out in the cold

so like so many others we've been snowed in awhile.. as someone who loves the snow this was a special treat, but i must say, ice is really not fun at all.

& this particular thaw was a tad traumatizing in its suddenness & severity. like we were caught under a giant ice machine pelting out ice-cubes on us & our house, only the ice-cubes were big. like throwing glass coke bottles at our skylights & windows from all the giant surrounding fir trees. as an infj my nervous system is hypersensitive & i felt like a kitty with my big eyes in, hearing every sound hitting all around the house & roof at once, till i thought i'd run down the hall really fast & get under the bed.. but i didn't, & we made it through intact, without any cracks or breaking.. (well, the house did anyway.)

as we've had to be creative in filling our time these days our valentine's day was spent having yet another board game match between me & mr dad. i'd won the last 2, so mr dad chose the games this time.. & this time he won!

a special post over at the lost & found includes a coloring book i created out of some of my ghost gallery art as a valentine to anyone interested.. i baked mr dad his traditional marionberry pie & raven has chosen the games for the next game match ;)

ok so i'm down to 111 which is ironically the ocd weight i use to try to stay at in my old eating disorder days, yikes.
i am creative & ocd organized but i must say even i am at the point that i'm ordering grumpy cat paperdoll sticker books online..

this weekend we're switching from our boardgames to madlibs for a change, we've been setting up our old 8mm videocamera & getting home movies of us playing, a fun update of things we did 20 years ago when my son was just a kid..
i also filmed a strange ghost closet fashion show with all my cool radiohead & emily t-shirts & socks & stuff, masks, music & all..
yes, we are current, we have gotten everything imaginable done & sorted, but we don't use the 'b' word here much, seeing as last time we did the universe heard us & supplied an emergency for us to deal with..
(the washing machine malfunctioned & overflowed flooding our downstairs carpeting. :O !)
so spring seems to be upon us now, not my favorite thing. but hopefully i'm up to a drive here & there before the infernal sunshine of summer? (i'm a sun allergic vampire so i have to avoid a pmle outbreak.) mr dad & i have plans to go out rock hunting in spots where we won't encounter others hopefully.. it's sorta like the way we met, in an honors geology course down in socal oh.. almost 40 years ago.. lol.
i recall sitting shotgun in the lbcc van he drove then, admiring the scenery as i smoked my marlboros while listening to music.. i look back at that now as 'husband tryouts'..i don't smoke anymore thank god, but i do still enjoy all our long lovely drives, now up here in wonderland..
