i'm interrupting book month for today for a different kind of oldschool item ~

i just love this vintage falcon children's desk ~

it works as an easel or a desk ~

& it has a chalkboard with some vintage chalk still inside ~

the scrolling paper roll on top features nursery rhyme characters~

trees ~

birds ~

letters & numbers ~

flowers ~

animals ~

designs of the era ~

it feels 30's or 40's to me ~

recently i was able to find this sweet little american seating envoy kindergarden chair to go with it ~

just like toxic remembers from kindergarden ~

this is a flashback friday favorite post from 2016 as we start off a weekend full of moons & stars :) oooh! ~

hey, there's a new book on the coffee table ~

my good friend, fellow misfit & part-time santa's elf just sent me this cool book ~

the stars: a new way to see them (internet archive) ~

it's by h.a. rey, who'll you recognize as the guy who brought us curious george :) ~

our star chart ~

this book has an easily readable approach that comfortably introduces us to the stars without overwhelming our brains with too many technicalities ~

it has every kind of star chart imaginable to show you the way through the night sky ~

for years mr dad & i have photo'd eclipses & supermoons ~

year-round celestial clock ~

originally published in the 50s, this vintage book still has pluto reassuringly included among the planets, out there at the edge of our solar system ~

toxic lived on the moon for awhile, not unlike gumby ~

it's starting to feel like xmas now :) ~

the minute i saw this magazine cover i knew i wanted to subscribe ;) ~

so i took advantage of a $1 per issue yearly subscription online to this remind magazine ~

& then chose a few cool back issues to add in like this kids' stuff issue with of course, gumby! ~

mr rogers, scooby doo, cartoons, schoolhouse rocks, toys, everything vintage kids loved about childhood ~

i had to have this munsters issue from an october past ~

i always say yvonne decarlo as lily munster is my idea of an ideal mom ;) ~

these mags include tcm listings & puzzle pages, articles & a color photo pin-up page ~

old & new retro shows & fun insights ~

they absolutely did not disappoint ~

of course all things vampire ~

from nosferatu & christopher lee & bela lugosi to the newer dracula incarnations ~

special articles devoted to vampira, elvira, svengoolie & other favorite horror hosts :D ~

fun time capsules ~

now i can't wait for our monthly issues to start arriving :) ~
