chief thunderbird

another cool vintage american indian toy today ~

this is chief thunderbird on his pinto northwind ~

50s era, he's plastic & made by the hartland company ~

originally he also had a knife, shield, spear & blanket ~

i also have this smaller celluloid figure around the toyroom, also 50s era ~

he shows up in my curiosities installation over at the ghost gallery too ~

as summer is ending i'm remembering old days of riding horses with my sisters <3 ~

i have several different horses in my toyroom ~

not unlike ones my older sister had long ago ;) ~

it's by a company called corbis ~

& i have a whole packet of their poster prints including all kinds of subject matter, from celebrities to trees & moths ~

mr dad brought it home from the shop he use to work at down in socal ~

they're kinda cool ~

some are political & newsworthy ~

some cool black & whites ~

sheeps ~

interesting photography ~

some cool 'futuristic' ones ~

flashback friday favorite ~ spring library sale

happiness is a box full of books ~

yeah, i'm a book nerd ~

the spring friends of the library sale is on at the lloyds center doubletree in downtown portland right now ~

i've been culling out the good vintage kid's books ~

alice, pop-ups, paperdolls, coloring books ~

i added some nice vintage editions to my nancy drew/hardy boys library ~

check out these shirley temple paperdolls, i'll post these up here at the lost & found soon ~

book month continues here all through the month of may ~

flashback friday favorite ~ friends of the library

i've been to the spring friends of the library sale today ~

i find less & less good kids vintage each time ~

but i always come home with some treasures ~

little golden books, scholastic & wonder books ~

i also venture into some other categories ~

like psychology ~

& ghost stuff ~

lol ~

i also have to check out the dvds & comic box ~

i found a signed comicon issue :) ~

& there are always some free postcards & other paper items found as bookmarks ~

btw i'm wearing this cool official retro smokey the bear t-shirt i just got from the landmark project to help support wildfire prevention education ;)  ~
