yesterday i hit the fall friends of the library sale downtown here in portland ~
it's book nerd heaven ~
& it's like my xmas ~
wonderful old fashioned & vintage books ~
i always scoop up the dover coloring books ~
kittens & butterflies ~
vintage wonder, elf & little golden books ~
this dr seuss story was/is still my son's favorite ~
when i saw it was glow-in-the-dark i had to bring it home ~
thanks mr dad, for manning the book cart ;) ~
pop-up oz & kids' vinyl too ~
i found these pokemon guides for raven, as well as a world champion pokemon card in the free bookmarks box too ~
i'll be posting these books up individually soon ~
p.s. you still have time to get to the sale today, but it's also the pdx marathon today so.. just sayin' ;)

remember the movie coraline? ~
made by laika stidios here in portland, the same folks who did paranorman ~
these are some carl's jr cool kids prizes from 2008 ~
including cards, a puzzle, keyclip & tic tac toe game ~
i think this movie had a small influence on some of my artwork ~
i also enjoyed the videogame ~
a nice edgy little game for girls (without being too girly-girl) ~
with another helpful talking cat ;) ~
this has been a flashback friday favorite post from summer of 2018 :) have you seen coraline introducing laika's new wildwood show, empire? <3 as a huge colin meloy & carson ellis (decemberists) fan i can't wait! coraline is also being rereleased soon in 3D!
note: i'll be honest, i wish the new gumby show could've been brought up here to portland & laika where we would've done him justice in a proper stop motion animation adventure show rather than a flat toothy cg cartoon gumby which i think is more suited to a comic book? :( just sayin'..

hey, it's 100 days till halloween!! ~
so in recognition of this special day i'm sharing this cool new alice cooper music maniacs figure from mcfarlane toys ~
so the reason why i associate him with halloween is personal ~
on my 13th birthday a friend gave me my first rock album, welcome to my nightmare by alice cooper ~
& the following halloween i dressed up in tophat & makeup just like him ~
rubber snake around my neck & all :D ~
i wish i had a picture to share but all i have are memories ;) ~
