a special vintage little golden book today ~

i've posted little red riding hood little golden books here before ~

but this one's extra special ~

first of all it's very vintage from the 40s ~

beautifully illustrated by elizabeth orton jones ~

the classic fairy tale ~

she's blonde this time & in this version the wolf ate up grandma ~

i've found the older the version, the more violent the story ~

there's a kitty ~

so once upon a time this little golden book came with a jigsaw puzzle in back :) ~

mine is sadly missing the pieces :( ~

coloring books, how & why, even comic books ~

it's still going through monday if you're in pdx ~

i never miss it ~

i bought a boxfull of vintage kid's books at the friends of the multnomah county library spring book sale yesterday ~

well worth waiting in line in the rain for :) ~

i added a bunch of nancy drew mysteries to my collection ~

toxic read all of these & all the hardy boys mysteries in her day ~

i love good vintage kids' books & have my own library now in the toy room ~

including a harry frees real animal book, william steig, nbx ~

coloring books ~

i can read & elf books ~

paperdolls ~

& the comic books are .50 cents each ~

adventure time & the twilight zone ~

johnny the homicidal maniac ~

i also check the vintage & psychology sections ~

& dvds ~

it's still going today so if you're in pdx you better hurry ~
