i've been a big fan of emily strange for ages, in fact my hubby thinks i'm a middle aged version ~

so of course i got this articulated emily doll in 2010 when she came out ~

apparently she chokes little children ~

she wears cat ears, goth nail polish & carries this catnip bag ~

& dresses in black of course ~

flashback friday - my gaming album

so we're a gaming family here ~

as part of fallout week, this special flashback friday post is about my gaming album ~

so toxic remembers playing handheld electronic football & atari, asteroids, pacman & centipede, galaga, defender, digdug, pong etc etc ~

but when nintendo's nes & snes games like shadowgate & final fantasy came out we became really serious, i've posted extensively about all these classic vintage games here at the lost & found before ~

my gaming album starts out with elder scrolls oblivion & morrowind, skyrim & fable screenshots, interspersed with lolkitties raven use to send me every mother's day <3 ~

even toxic shows up to join in here & there ;) ~

i've played all of these games to death, either to platinum or the glitchy ends where i was forced to stop ~

personal favorites include american mcgee's alice which i even completed on nightmare difficulty.. because that is love, right? ~

before fallout 76 i lived in fallout 3, 4 & new vegas ~

where i set up a beatnik art studio ~

a post-apoc kitty sanctuary at my starlight drive-in compound ~

as well as the lost & found toy & soda shop ~

these games & places become an integral part of our lives as we spend so much time there ~

bloodborne & the other dark souls games are often said to be too difficult, but are always the first choice for raven & i both ~

i remember putting that controller in his hands when he was just a toddler thinking he'd love the cause & effect, push a button & run & jump! out in our beloved gaming camper where he discovered one of my game guides & a picture of the undead kobolds, something that scared him enough to leave a lasting phobia :o ~

(yeah i collect things in my gameworlds as well..) ~

i also remember us all having marble fudge ice-cream as little dan watched me fight zeromus at the end of the old snes game final fantasy 2, needless to say that left a lasting impression as well, the ff games are still his favorite to this day ~

he started out with mystic quest & by his teenage years we were videotaping our own 'game gallery' videos now up at my youtube channel here (just scroll down to my videos) ~

so i don't know what it says about my mothering job..lol? we've had a blast though & now raven has his own youtube gaming channel here (please subscribe, he's really good, in fact they say he's so good even his mom is good ;) & once in awhile we've been able to play in game together, now we're looking forward to doing this again in the new game elden ring ~

we are often playing as vampires & catfolk, or khajiits & always have our sweet kitties along with us of course ~

flashback friday - videolog

this is a flashback friday favorite post from summer of 2022! so summer's here & it has been too hot ~

this is the season for vampires like us to close up the curtains & turn on the a/c & bingewatch old movies, right? ~

a good time to share my old videolog ~

which is of course covered in stickers including gumby & emily strange ~

so way back in the day i was an avid vhs taper of old tv shows & movies ~

as you can tell from a glance into 'the video vault' ~

another kind of sticker, do these old vhs & cassette labels make you feel nostalgic? ~

during the 80s i collected all my favorite old tv shows on tape ~

this time of year i'd be stocking up enough blank vhs tapes for the upcoming twilight zone marathon! ~

i also collected night gallery, outer limits & other scifi shows & movies ~

even all the original star treks ~

yeah, nerd. ~

i'd collect mr rogers episodes ~

& other favorites from toxic's childhood ~

i think mr dad & i have seen all the old b movies out there at some point ~

i had such a collection i had to create my own label ~

i also liked to videotape our own home movies & transfer old 8mm films to vhs & eventually dvd, those are like our own time machine now <3 ~
