for throwback thursday an old post about a favorite place we happened to drive by recently.. so we have too many cool places here in portland to count ~

one of them is music millenium on burnside ~

we were there yesterday looking for some vinyl ~

it's not your typical record & cd store ~

for one thing there are these fellows ~

the walls are filled with retro novelty goodness like gumby, felix, mr bill, giant eyeballs & even slug stampede! ~

retro fisher price, tin toys, games.. even mr dad's inner child finds treasure here ~

emergency bigfoot & all seeing eyes ~

all manner of retro candy up front ~

what would jesus wear? ~

incense ~

& yes, this is potland afterall ~

so although sadly i couldn't snag the limited edition special vinyl i was looking for, we did bring home fun toys anyway ~

i'll be posting my finds here soon enough ~

Hi & Welcome to the Lost & Found Vintage Toy Blog!

for this throwback thursday a post from 2 years ago on the lost & found blog's birthday :D i'm bren & this is the lost & found's 10th birthday post! ~

i'm a collector of vintage toys, books & pop culture items, including holiday, retro or even contemporary toys that i particularly like. i host a website called gumbyland that i've maintained for more than 20 years, as my biggest collection is of the 50's character gumby! all the items i have up at gumbyland link back here to show off the collection in detail for my fellow gumby fans, but there's much more here to interest vintage kids & collectors, i've posted a toy, children's book or collectible every day since i started this site 10 years ago ~

my bucket list is to try to find all the toys & books i lost in childhood, & whenever i mention the nickname 'toxic' i am referring to my own inner child (yeah i am a little bit dysfunctional.) i've also been known on the web for years as 'ghost' in part because i like to photograph old cemeteries.. & i also paint & write & create art installations, dollscapes, miniature houses & digital art so i have a ghost gallery of my art up at gumbyland for anyone who's interested.. there are links in the sidebar & footer to all my different sites & pages ~

if you're looking for a particular toy or item please try the search box & the categories list in the sidebar, although i've found it doesn't always work to find all of the items i've posted, so if that doesn't work you might want to peruse through the archives.. each archived month has a page with 3 posts & you can click at the bottom to continue through all that month's posts.. there's even an inventory album in the sidebar with thousands of item thumbnails.. & you can ask a question anywhere using the comments, i am usually able to answer by the following day.. i try to go back & update old posts where appropriate so check back ~

vintage kids & nostalgia buffs please feel free to comment on any of the posts new or old & share your memories here.. from here on i won't be posting every day, but don't worry i still have lots of cool stuff to share, including highlights of fun old posts from the archives that i want to bring back ~
