circus week continues with this humpty dumpty cast iron clown bank ~
i believe this is a very old reproduction of the original, but still cool vintage ~
you can barely read humpty dumpty on the back.. (george l. fox was america's first great white face clown character humpty dumpty created in 1867 - fox gave 1128 performances on broadway in this role and was the most highly paid actor of his time - unfortunately he was removed from the stage during his last performance and taken to an insane asylum dying three years later - it was rumored he went insane due to poisoning from his lead based face make up - but in reality he succumbed to the ravages of syphilis..) ~
part of his hand is missing so he can't hold a penny, but his hand still raises & his tongue moves to eat pennies ~
the lever works & pennies still fall inside ok ~
but they fall out the bottom because he has no stopper underneath ~
i just like him because he's old & freaky looking..
ghost & toxic
