we have our spookytown set up this halloween ~

lemax has been making spookytown miniatures for many years & you can always see the latest pieces at your local michael's store ~

on the top are some more modern sets ~

like doctor stretch'n'pull's torture factory ~

when activated the gate lifts revealing a poor torture victim spinning on a rack ~

a ghost tree ~

& a little grim reaper graveyard ~

with plenty of ravens ~

these miniatures are lots of fun ~

especially when you turn the lights off ~

the larger pieces have their own lights & sound like this monster's ball ~

my favorites are these are older ceramic sets that are on a slightly smaller scale ~

the little witch pops in & out of the black cauldron inn ~

& when you hear thunder dr tingle's laboratory lights up accordingly ~

the funeral parlor is haunted by ghosts that float past its windows ~

an old fashioned hearse ~

the pumpkin patch ~

i've kept the vampires & their 'wine tasting' fountain on my bookshelves for a while now ~

my hubby & i have been working on trying to finish our latest mini halloween house by the big day ~

you'll need a good power strip to operate an entire set up of animated pieces ~

before we start getting all xmasy i wanted to share one last post in the last glow of halloween season ~

these fabric swatches i picked up from spoonflower now line some of my collectible shelves ~

everything from vintage halloween cats to universal monsters & nosferatu ~

waiting to be used for my little projects, like this sasquatch & cat pillow i made for mr dad ;) ~

flashback friday favorite ~ st pat's day!

this is a flashback friday favorite post from years ago.. i thought i'd share this cool retro tin lunchbox today ~

i love tin ~

besides lucky the leprechaun, it has the trix rabbit on the reverse ~

trix are for kids ~

i use cool old cereal boxics to store comics in, like this lenticular lucky charms box ~

with magical unicorn marshmallows! ~

this box came with a mini comic inside :) ~

we especially like chocolate lucky charms at our house ~

these each have a leprechaun trap on the back so you can try to catch your own! ~

update: here's another leprechaun trap we picked up this year (2023) ~

following up on yesterday's post of the oz themed halloween party ~

a few behind the scenes shots to better show some of the oz wallflower characters ~

glinda the good witch & the witch of the east, you can't see here but she's wearing the classic black & white striped socks & ruby slippers! ~

the wizard! a winky guard & flying monkey ~

i used paper mini party favors from an old favorite, ann venture minis ~

i've posted her stuff at the lost & found before ~

they included teeny tiny tootsie rolls & candy treats ~

masks & hats, plates & decor ~

these articulated decorations took some time, i chose to use needle & thread to hold them together ~

i also used mini graphics i'd gathered over the internet & printed myself ~

fun & games ~

witch's apples to bob for ~

but i must say my favorite prop this time has been the real authentic cobwebs that i kept carefully in place :D ~

alice discovered them around the other mini houses in our playroom <3 ~

like here on the halloween house roof ~

i also added a few new mini jols to the halloween house this year ~

fun updates ~

even the kids at sunset house got some treats for halloween ;) ~

halloween season is notoriously our shopping season ~

whether it's monster cereal & snacks & candy ~

or decor for the kitchen ~

our house tends to have a halloween feel year-round ;) ~

i love that our little alice has halloween colors also <3 ~

she's my assistant ~

this year i added to my kitchen this nightmare before christmas mug ~

for soup or decaf ;) ~
