i bought this vintage bear from a thrift store back when i was expecting my son, daniel.. he was sitting there looking lonely amongst mostly furniture & i had to take him home. he became my son's most beloved toy through all of his childhood. named beanish bear due to his rather bean-shaped body & limbs, we've always affectionately referred to him as bean, or old bean.
as you can see, his plastic eyes have borne the brunt of many a trip through the washer & dryer, & i had to restitch his mouth one time, but once upon a time he was bright-eyed, soft & fluffy..

this flashback friday i thought i'd highlight my ghostgallery dollscapes ~
that's what i call the installations i've created & photo'd through the years ~
using dolls & other vintage toys ~
like our mini houses they are hosted up at the last hallway of my ghost gallery ~
a place i call the rows of never opened doors ~
often inner child themed, these creations have been like art therapy for me ~
& i've even appeared in some myself ;) ~
along with many toys i've posted about here at the lost & found blog ~

it may seem an odd time for me to post a xmas book here at the onset of spring ~
but this is a very special book my son & i made way back when he was young for my niece, his cousin marissa ~
she was still small & learning how to read so we were helping her with the alphabet & fun words like kitty ;) ~
mice, mnms & munching monsters! ~
i'm thinking of marissa as she is due to deliver her own first child any day now <3 ~
one xmas of long ago i gave her & her sister crystal this little old lady who swallowed a fly plush toy & it became a family favorite ~
a quiet queen & her quail.. i love my son's drawings included here, along with pix of cousins playing in the pool ~
all is love.. ~
