continuing with yesterday's theme, today i'd like to remember fred rogers & the pbs show mister rogers' neighborhood ~
another signed photo that is actually one of my favorite items, as much as i poked fun at mr rogers in my youth (i even used quotes from him in my demented highschool mixtapes..) honestly i think he was one of the finer people on the planet, & am sad that he is gone now. i can hardly believe it's been over 10 years now since he passed ~
this little neighborhood snowglobe sits on my wall unit & we have several of these magnetic postcards up on the fridge ~
i also have a bunch of his books from over the years as well ~
i even received the neighborhood puppets one birthday years ago ~

this vintage vinyl lp from 1973 features songs from the mister rogers show ~
although they're sung by jerry whitman ~
a disneyland record ~

you can watch episodes of mister rogers' neighborhood vintage & newer at the pbs website or on amazon, i still hope one day i'll be able to purchase a full collection of all of his shows.. this youtube is one of my very favorites..

when invited to a halloween costume party, they decide to dress as each other ;) ~
there's a black cat crossing their path & baddin' up their luck ~
rotten ralph is a mischievous kitty ~
he takes all the candy & gets popcorn everywhere ~
but he's still sarah's best friend :) ~

my son was fortunate enough to grow up with the nickelodeon channel ~
so it was always on at our house & the sounds & shows became favorites ~
& on the subject of sounds, these burp buttons were a special favorite at our house, especially when kitties would step on them :D ~
these kids meal prizes were from bk 2009 ~
promoting the nick kids' choice awards ~
also my son woke up each school morning with this cool nickelodeon clock/radio ~

this large vintage gumby for president button was a promotional item in conjunction with the release of fhe's gumby for president vhs videotape ~
from 1987 ~
& i'm also fortunate enough to have this vintage gumby for president t-shirt from 1983 ~
i'm fortunate because this cool item was generously donated to gumbyland for safekeeping ~

& is in fact signed on the back by art clokey back in the 80's when he gave talks around the college circuit in california ~
toxic attended an honors geology course down at lbcc in socal at the time & was heartbroken to realize she'd missed art clokey's talk there, so this item feels like a missing piece.. a lost & found item in spirit ~
