american mcgee's alice

my favorite alice is the original series #1 alice figure here with cheshire cat by american mcgee ~

this is the classic original pc game with rutledge asylum casebook & box from EA games 2000 ~ this more mature version of alice had its setting in a very dark & twisted wonderland of alice's own troubled mind.. (bloody violence & psychological horror, this one was not for the kiddies..)

i love this game, mr mcgee's artwork & the music by chris vrenna that is throughout~
(i still listen to the cd which sounds much like the inner workings of my own little mind..)

there was also a later alice figure released (with cat), but she was in a different anime type style ~

their boxes were almost the same ~

alice's signature weapon ~ the deadly vorpal blade..

this one is stainless steel made in japan by epic weapons ~

this game gave me the only case of simsickness i ever had, & hooked me forever!

so yesterday's flashback friday post was my favorite videogame, american mcgee's alice madness returns ~

i shared how i've played this game several times all the way up to nightmare difficulty :D ~

well i'm back so i can capture an entire runthrough for my youtube channel! starting out in my cheshire cat attire, in memory of my sweet cheshire cat, snug, who was always right by my side for this game.. (she still is, she's just invisible now <3) ~

here was a peek back ~

& here's where i really venture back into the vale of tears ~

it's good to see old friends like the duchess & hatter ~

i knew it had been awhile, but some enemies seemed kinda feisty? raven realized i still had it set on nightmare difficulty! so we dialed it down a bit ;) ~

things start getting a little spicy here ;) ~

flashback friday - american mcgee's alice

so for this flashback friday i'm revisiting what are perhaps my favorite videogames of all time ~

american mcgee's alice & alice madness returns ~

i related way too well with this more mature alice & in fact had it pointed out to me more than once my resemblance to her ;) ~

i began playing the original american mcgee's alice game on pc many many years ago ~

but lost playability when i updated my pc to xp! :o ~

i waited years for the eventual release of american mcgee's alice madness returns on the xbox console :D ~

during which time i sought out every cool related figure & collectible i could find :D ~

madness returns included a working copy of the original game as well so i could play it again to the end! ~

i ended up playing madness returns over & over all the way up to nightmare difficulty!! ~

this one shows all the content after the end of the playthroughs ~

with my special cheshire cat, snug, beside me all the way <3 ~

i was a patreon patron of american mcgee's & played my small role in product development help on his mysterious products, which i've of course posted generously about here at the lost & found before ~

i must say, like him i was crushed when the alice asylum game development ended without coming to fruition, but i hold out hope that maybe someone will take up the project & develop it at last? ~

so i'm an old alice & oz fan from vintage days ;) ~

so i have retro wall art around the house in that fashion ~

as well as this old movie night sign ~

by the old analog tv in our playroom ~

i also like butterflies :) ~

vintage papillons on our game cupboards ~

& since going back into american mcgee's alice game recently for youtube captures, i found some wall art to add to our decor ~

madness returns indeed ~

this tin sign is now in my room ;) ~

i'm going to have to replay this game again.. again ~
