september is book month here at the lost & found ~
i thought i'd like to post just a little bit more gumby ~
& what better way since gumby was a national spokesperson for the library of congress promoting reading books ~
in this colorful vintage 1986 book by jane hyman gumby teaches all about shapes ~
using scenes from the original adventures ~
let's go into a book within a book looking for shapes ~
remember when the blockheads changed the shape of pokey's & prickle's heads? ~
musical notes too & loo are ovals ~
& so are watermelons before they change into zoops ~
remember, if you have a heart then gumby's a part of you ~
this has been a flashback friday favorite post from book month september 2015 :) ~

I have some general Gumby related questions for anyone. Wasn't sure the right post to ask on, hope this is o.k. This seems the best source for those knowledgeable about Gumby that I've found.
Is the "Gumby's World" game listed on the front page gone forever? I couldn't find it on thr app store & tried contacting the developer at [email protected], haven't recieved reply.
Is there any official info on why many Gumby fugures' eyes look toward the side, rather than forward?
Do any of the Pokey bendies have a torso which can bend & hold poses? Or are they all just wired only in the legs & a bit in the neck?
Were there any figures which resemble Gum y's 1960's on screen incarnation? A few years ago a 3-D printed made to order figurine was available from Intigo via the gumbyworld site, but are there more?
Does the Gumby Fan Club at BOX 3905, Schaumburg, IL 60194 still mail materials?
The gumbyworld . com site has been on hiatus since Joe.C has gone. Any info about it?
Are there any developments regarding Fox's 2022 acquisition of Gumby?
About 20 years ago, there was a dedicated Gumby shop in the Shinjuku district of Tokyo. Art.C was there for a 9 day press & distributor tour with Sony Creative inc. It appears a lot of exclusive merch was made for that specific market area. Does anyone have any more info about it? The geocities site I found it on is from kurthanson2002. If you visit the site, be cautioned that there may be auto-redirect issues with it.
Thanks to Bren, Gumby fans & readers.
p.s. One of the episodes I inquired about before regarding "bumpkins" I later figured out was "Motor Mania" 1967. Thanks for the reply.

hey dorian,
great questions! you know i played the gumbyworld games & posted about it here & in other posts ~ https://friendlyghost.typepad.com/lost_found_vintage_toys/2018/01/gumbys-world-prizes.html
it was such a blast while it lasted, which was short-lived, don't know why but it just stopped working?
i've not encountered a pokey that bends in the body..
i encountered more than one 'gumby fan club' during all my years of creating my gumbyland website, that schaumburg illinois is familiar to me, wish i could tell you why all the changes? i've been good at collecting & being a grown-up challenged vintage kid, not as good at figuring out all the details, hopefully some other gumby collectors will see this & chime in?
i knew there was that gumby store in japan at one time & i've seen pictures, i have a few items that were sold there, but that's all i know on that subject..
i think now that fox got the rights that gumby is on TUBI tv?
i'll check around to see if i can find out anymore, but hopefully someone else knows?
thanks for the comment!
