a fellow gumby collector was asking me what my prized gumby items are in my gumbyland collection & i laid awake thinking about this last night ~
so i may have mentioned before here that my earliest memory is of gumby? ~
i had to be a mere 2 years old & my dad would pull out my playdoh from under the livingroom couch where it was tucked away on a big kitchen board, & i'd play with it in front of the tv watching gumby :D ~
perhaps creating my own adventures? <3 ~
so although i've collected so many gumby treasures over the last 4 or 5 decades, i have to say my gumby memories are what are priceless to me ~
as a first gen gumby fan, i was literally setting my vcr to tape the new 80's gumby episodes as i left for the hospital to give birth to my son raven :D!! ~
& he became a second gen fan through his own childhood ~
in fact his 3rd birthday was all gumby themed & i turned over half my collection to him at that time ~
because i believe toys are to be loved & played with by children first off ~
as he grew up i tucked away what was left happily ~
i remember how excited i was at the grocery store when i discovered a discarded gumby freeze pops box & brought it home with more gumby freeze pops for my son & his friends to enjoy on hot summer days ~
i'll always remember setting up for the lbpt collector's corner interview with tabitha's pittypats 'help' ~
finding an old gumby at a yardsale & the ladies there all started talking about how they loved gumby, so i mentioned my website & they were so happy to know their gumby was coming home to my toyroom <3 ~
getting an email from joe clokey way back in the day when he was first setting up the prema website asking if i'd add a link up at gumbyland :o :D ~
discovering rare old bendys ;) ~
the new comic books! ~
as an oldschool longtime gamer i have to say it was positively unreal those days & nights playing games at gumbyworld & winning those prize boxes that came in the mail! i'll never forget those times.. ~
& just all the memorable interactions this reclusive eccentric catlady has been able to enjoy with such good gumby people <3 <3 <3 ~
my toyroom is my happy place ~
gumby has been a source of joy for me all my life, thank you gumby! ~
if you haven't visited gumbyland yet, why not come on over? & just click gumby in the category list in the left sidebar for so much more!

Hey this is Charlie.
Great post! Those erasers with Hopi Indian stuff are unreal. I have the freezer pops too. Your collection is so much fun for me to look at. Thank you. I'm gonna jump on Instagram!
Cheers

charlie i know literally nothing about those old bitties! i started selling on ebay right at the onset to raise $ to buy gumby stuff for gumbyland & that was a cool lot that i snagged for cheap right off, just like those funfair toys.. some of my favorites, just due to their uniqueness.. :)
