happy birthday art clokey!

so today would've been art clokey's 101st birthday ~

creator of gumby ~

& davey & goliath ~

art said gumby was every kid's pal ~

so true in my case as my earliest memory is of watching gumby in the small duplex we lived in, my dad kept my playdoh on a wooden kitchen board tucked under the couch & i remember asking him to bring it out for me so i could play with it while i watched gumby on tv :) ~

then i remember setting the vcr at home to tape the premiere of the new gumby adventures as i was busy going to the hospital to give birth to my own son, & to pass on the love of gumby to a new generation <3 ~

i started collecting gumby items back in the 80s ~

& started my gumbyland website more than 20 years ago ~

along with my own art gallery ~

then later i began this blog to share with other gumby fans & vintage kids :D ~

i've had the joy of interacting with such fun gumby people through the years ~
