the videolog

so summer's here & it has been too hot ~

this is the season for vampires like us to close up the curtains & turn on the a/c & bingewatch old movies, right? ~

a good time to share my old videolog ~

which is of course covered in stickers including gumby & emily strange ~

so way back in the day i was an avid vhs taper of old tv shows & movies ~

as you can tell from a glance into 'the video vault' ~

another kind of sticker, do these old vhs & cassette labels make you feel nostalgic? ~

during the 80s i collected all my favorite old tv shows on tape ~

this time of year i'd be stocking up enough blank vhs tapes for the upcoming twilight zone marathon! ~

i also collected night gallery, outer limits & other scifi shows & movies ~

even all the original star treks ~

yeah, nerd. ~

i'd collect mr rogers episodes ~

& other favorites from toxic's childhood ~

davey & goliath ~

& obviously gumby! ~

there's still all kinds of cool old ephemera tucked away in the videolog ~

& eventually i tried to buy or transfer our video library to dvd in later years ~

but i love these old pages, like this one with joe bob briggs ~

mst3k fan & reel wild cinema fan club stuff ~

i think mr dad & i have seen all the old b movies out there at some point ~

i had such a collection i had to create my own label ~

i also liked to videotape our own home movies & transfer old 8mm films to vhs & eventually dvd, those are like our own time machine now <3 ~

just a note, i recently realized when i send a link to someone of a comment at either of my blogs it sometimes just goes to the post rather than a specific comment, sorry if that happens, that can be confusing! i use typepad's dashboard for everything, but i realize not everyone sees things at the blogs like i do, on phones it may be different too? i answer most all of the comments but the 'recent comments' that come up in the sidebar may only be seen by some? & it's only the last 10 so some drop off, anyway i don't know if people see my replies but i try! :)
