flashback friday favorite ~ goose

i enjoy hearing & seeing geese flying over as they head south for winter ~

in fact, we are south for many of them ~

this is goose by molly bang ~

it starts one stormy night ~

an egg rolls out of its nest ~

& down into a hole in the ground ~

a baby goose! ~

she grows up with a family of woodchucks ~

learns to swim ~

but she feels something missing ~

poor lonely goose ~

she falls ~

but i think you know what happens next ~

she realizes she can fly ~

this was my son's book when he was small ~

from blue sky press 1996 ~

this has been a flashback friday favorite post from 2018..

I didn't know that woodchucks are mainly vegetarian, which I looked up after reading this story! HaHa! I like the illustrations spread out over the two pages the best. My favorite you posted are the pages where the baby goose hatches. =)
