i just love the treasures i find at the friends of the library book sale :)
hey, unrelated, but i'm jealous, you guys have an insect carousel at the bronx zoo?! we 'collect' carousels, but i've never had a ride on a butterfly..

There is an insect carousel? The Bronx isn’t more than 50 miles from my house but it may as well be Mars. I’m no city girl. Kinda wish I was just a little bit for stuff like that. Rainy Portland day in NY today. I’m still in pjs.
Do you remember that 70’s literacy program called RIF - reading is fundamental? That’s were I got some of these books when I was a kid. I didn’t like reading that much, but I always got motivated when the RIF bus rolled into town.
The return of em, indeed! I’ve got an iPad Pro now. Stand back. 🤪

i remember RIF! toxic was a bookworm, our favorite day was the scholastic book fair when we could order books for .30 & .40 cents & wait for them to arrive :D
yeah, i saw pix of that carousel online, we have ridden every one within our reach, or videotaped/photo'd at least, especially the really old ones..
this version of the rey book is even more kid friendly, thought you'd like to know for your students?
