it's flashback friday again ~
i'm pulling out some of toxic's old 45s ~
polk salad annie by tony joe white ~
these are the sounds of our childhood ~
played on a record player on the back porch on summer days ~
or in the cool dark garage ~
toxic would dance ~
poison ivy by the coasters ~
amazingly this venus record by the shocking blue survived through all the years as toxic's mom constantly tried to throw it away & it was rescued from the trash more than once :D ~
not sure why? ~
many of our originals got warped & melted out & the sun & were lost along the way ~
there's just nothing like the crackle & hiss of vintage vinyl ~
so i still have a turntable to this day ~
some crackled & skipped so bad i had to replace them ~
favorites like terry jacks' seasons in the sun ~
i still buy vinyl, what are your favorite vinyl oldies? ~
be sure to check back next friday ~
or click vinyl in the category list for more anytime ~
