first of all happy halloween everyone! may your day & night be filled with ghoulish delight! ~
for this special day a special game from the vintage 60's ~
ka-bala the mysterious game that foretells the future! ~
forget that old 8 ball, this thing does it all & it even glows in the dark ~
made by transogram the folks who gave us green ghost which i posted up last halloween ~
in the box ~
$3.88! ~
the board is round underneath & players place their hands on either side planchette style ~
players then ask questions & receive answers through the cards, the signs & the mystic glowing eye of zohar! ~
if it all sounds a little ouija-esque, it is! in fact i was fortunate enough to buy this vintage game in its box unused from a priest who was selling it as part of an effort to raise money for unwed moms & hungry kids, so i even had him say a blessing over it as he packed it for post so i'd feel safe with it in my toyroom! lol.. ~
instructions, cards & accessories ~
assembly for the eye of zohar ~
my sister got this game one xmas long ago & i've always wanted to get it again, so this is a true lost & found item ~
the cards are still unseparated ~
much like standard tarot cards ~
the cards are placed in the spaces provided around the board ~
original instructions ~
players chant 'pax, sax, sarax, hola, noa nostra' ~
the dark marble rolls around the board & indicates letters & responses yes & no as the eye of zohar guides its movement ~
is ka-bala a cool vintage game? ~
yes! ~
from 1967 ~
turn off the lights & play if you dare! they just don't make kids' games like they used to ~
this ad came included in the game box ~
the happy hollisters mystery book ~
UPDATE: by special request i have scanned the instructions to a pdf file ~
kabala instructions (both sides)
:D

Hi,
I purchased a ka-bala today and the marble was missing. Do you know the size of the marble so I can find one to replace it with, and do you know if they were all red?
Thanks
Kevin

hi kevin,
yeah the kabala marble is what we used to call a 'boulder' larger than a standard marble, & it's dark purpley-red to almost black, hope this helps..

Hey! Do you have an email you can be reached at? I have a question about Ka-Bala but would rather ask privately. I can be reached at [email protected]

now if you scroll to the bottom of this post you'll see 2 links where i've scanned the original instruction page in full size pdf files, both sides, and one where i've stitched the instructions together into one page :)

Hi, I was wondering if you knew anyone who was selling this game? Very curious about it and would love to use it. Thank you

amelia,
i was able to get this one on ebay like everyone else i suppose, for best results i'd save a search for it there & toggle it to text you immediately when one comes up so you get the first shot at it..
i see a couple up there now but one is missing pieces ~ https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050430.m570.l1311.R1.TR10.TRC0.A0.H0.Xka+bala+.TRS0&_nkw=kabala+game&_sacat=0
good luck! :D

Hi Ghost, just found your interesting site and this great post about Ka-Bala. I just recently started doing something I've always wanted to do... collect some Ouija boards! I have a few now and I just added this interesting toy, which goes great with my Transogram Green Ghost. Anyways, I'm missing some cards for mine, so if/when you get a chance, would you also consider scanning the two sides of the little tarot cards for other collectors like me? Thanks for your consideration.

hey david,
i'm afraid the cards are still sealed & unseparated as you can see in the pic, so i just photo'd both sides of the card packet itself.. :( i don't really want to open them, you know? also it's put away in a safe but hard to reach spot..) sorry about that..
we love green ghost, posted that one up here too: https://friendlyghost.typepad.com/lost_found_vintage_toys/2013/10/green-ghost-game.html

Thank you for your reply, and have been enjoying your website, yeah, Green Ghost is awesome and I look forward to try and get the two displayed together. Hopefully I can make my own replacements from the images on the directions and by finding references to their text online.
