another vintage whitman coloring book (actually i have a couple of these..) ~
this time it's national velvet from 1963 ~
if you like horses & are vintage as i am, you will probably remember this movie ~
starring elizabeth taylor as a girl named velvet brown ~
she gets to ride in a horse show ~
toxic used to like to go see her older sisters ride in horse shows ~
they won cool ribbons ~
toxic loved horseback riding ~
although i haven't done it now in ages ~
a happy trip ~
at the horse show ~
of course she wins ~
ice cream time! ~
we missed our chance this summer to find boysenberries from a stand ~
they're better than blackberries for pies but hard to find these days ~
