jack & jill magazine ~ may 1959

i'm posting a vintage may jack & jill magazine in february because of the paper doll listed above ~

but first a very sweet kitty story (we sometimes call our tabitha tibby..) ~

things to make for boys & girls ~

& a bird story ~

toxic once rescued a baby sparrow & fed it mealworms from the pet shop, but never thought to put it in with her parakeet, peet ~

100 years of paper dolls ~

featuring shirley temple ~

sadly she died just recently ~

another baba yaga story ~

if you have a little daughter or granddaughter why not watch the little princess together ~

a classic that toxic loved ~

there are other good shirley temple movies too, & i especially like the mad movies version as well (bad old dolly) ~

the modern version is also good ~

when tabitha was a kitten we called her the little princess.. (well she's still our little princess actually) ~

the shirley temple of kittyland..

Baba Yaga in monthly Jack & Jill installments was fascinatingly terrifying as a child, and there's no adult comparison.

i like the old edgier children's stories such as these, today's kids get such safe disneyfied fare..
