april showers bring may flowers.. which is certainly true here today in portland, the lilacs & bleeding hearts blooming outside my window have never looked prettier, & the air smells sweet even once it's dark from the night blooming jasmine nearby..
the alphabet in flowers seems to be a common theme in vintage children's books back to victorian times, this one is from 1944 & the samuel lowe company ~
have you ever tasted the nectar of a nasturtium? if you just tear off the tiny point that sticks out underneath the petals you can taste the droplet of nectar inside.. :) it's very sweet, no wonder hummingbirds & butterflies like it so much.. my favorite flower is the morning glory ~
