kewpie dolls

if you went to a carnival or fair back in the 50's you might win one of these vintage plastic kewpie dolls at one of the game stalls ~

some kewpies have little wings on their shoulders, but not all ~

this vintage plastic kewpie is 9" tall ~

my grandmother was an avid kewpie collector as a child & always made toxic's hair into a kewpie point in all her baby pictures.. lol

here's a smaller kewpie with a squeaker in the back ~

even smaller..

here's a tiny kewpie doll only a few inches tall ~

some kewpies are plastic & some are vinyl ~

some more vintage kewpies ~

these tiny ones might have originally had squeakers in their tummies ~

the original kewpie dolls were created based on a comic strip style character in the ladies home jounal by rose o'neill in 1909 ~
