walt disney's perri

this is a vintage big golden book based on the 1957 disney real-life animal adventure, perri ~

perri is a real little squirrel living in the wild ~

toxic has always felt a kinship with little animals that hibernate to survive the winter, with our cold weather here recently i thought of perri.. ~

man, & i thought my life was stressful, poor perri faces one disaster after another ~

perri's friend porro is a boy squirrel that she meets ~

perri's neighbors are the beavers of beaver valley & nature's half acre ~

the film is hard to find, but i found it on volume #4 of disney's true life adventure dvds ~

Thanks for posting this. As a kid this was actually my favorite book (don't ask me why ;-).

As an adult, I've periodically looked for a copy without success and since the world wide web came out I've occasionally "googled" for it -- turns out I've been misspelling the squirrel's name as "Perry".

Thanks for the childhood reminder.

:) glad you liked it, i've seen a few different versions of this story in book form on ebay over the years, so it does come up there regularly & not very expensive as i recall.. i also found it here ~

have you ever seen the film? it's classic disney & nostalgic.. it was hard to find a copy to buy, but is viewable online..

I'm so glad after all these years(58 this year) and I myself, am seeing 'Perri the squirrel' for the 1st time. Shame on me, since this is who I was named after, as my mother just knew that I wouldn't be a Pauline(who ended up being the next sibling in line). I would love to get the book and the dvd. Hope I get to find it. Thanks for showing me the light.

that film is a classic, although i must admit i didn't see it until just years ago.. i grew up seeing the other disney true life adventures in elementary school (beaver valley & nature's half acre) & this one is similar.. you shouldn't have too much trouble finding the dvd & books on ebay, they're not super rare. also i always advise people when looking for a hard-to-find item on ebay to save a search there for exactly what it is you want & toggle the tool that emails you right when one pops up so you get first shot.. good luck!

I actually was named after this movie. My mom and dad were wat ching this right before I was born and decided to name me Perri with this actual spelling. I also have the book! I love to tell people the story of how I got my name!! (So much better than the Nancy Elizabeth that they were going to name me!)
