remember jello 1 2 3?
it had a short run & was mysteriously taken off the shelves in the late 60's.
i think it made a brief return years later?
3 layer lime jello 1 2 3 was toxic's absolute favorite food!
i found an attempted recipe online to recreate this perfect summer treat & have tweaked it a bit myself after trial & error to achieve the effect, so here is toxic's recipe if you'd like to try it:
retro 123 jello recipe ~
need:
i used (1) 8 oz tub fat-free cool whip
(1) 6 oz box of berry fusion jello
(you can use any flavor or 2 flavors by substituting 3 oz boxes instead)
water & ice
a blender
prepare normally half a 6 oz box of jello (or (1) 3 oz box) & let it set up in a dish that has room for more layers (1 cup boiling water & 1 cup cold water..)
after that has set up ~
in a blender put the other half box of jello (or another 3 oz box) & add in 1 cup boiling water, pulse a few times until jello dissolves, then add 1 cup ice in water & pulse a few more times until ice melts..
then add in 2/3 of the tub of fat-free cool whip & pulse several times quickly to whip it up.. pour onto the first layer & let set.. it will separate into 2 more layers!
top serving with a dollop of the remaining cool whip..
